Transpower will conduct scheduled maintenance on essential equipment that will require a power outage in Opotiki, Waiotahe, Te Kaha and surrounding areas between 7:30am - 5:30pm on Sunday10 June 2018.
What to do before the power goes out:
•If you are reliant on electricity for a medical device, talk with your electricity retailer or medical provider directly
•Need some cash? Get it early as ATMs will probably not be working
•Make sure you have enough petrol in case pumps are not working
•If you rely on a pump for water from a bore or well remember to fill bottles and containers for drinking water
•Turn off all electronic appliances at the wall (microwaves, TVs, DVDs, computers etc)
•While the power is off, treat all power lines and electrical wiring as being live at all times as it could be restored earlier than planned
•Don't forget to charge your phone.
Council's water, wastewater and stormwater networks will run on generators during the outage so should all remain fully functional.
